The story of David and Goliath in gives us some really good insight into how the enemy constantly tries to redefine the identity of God’s people and how we must take an offensive posture to stay grounded in who the Father says we are.
Christ not only reclaimed for us who are reborn full dominion and authority within the spirit realm, He also restored the Father’s image in those who are reborn in Him so that the very characteristics of the Father Himself would be inherited and would manifest in His children.
If there is anything that we believe about God - any bit of doctrine whatsoever - that does not line up with the life of Jesus - then why do we believe it?
We know that we are co-heirs with Christ but have we ever considered the fact that the Father has an inheritance in is?
There is more power in the truth of who God has made you, now that you are in Christ, than in identifying as the former slave to sin that you used to be.
While we are being transformed and learning to walk according to the Spirit to become the sons and daughters of the Father so as to fulfill our destinies in His kingdom, we must not identify with who we were prior to our rebirth.
We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We who continue in the faith, who are yielded to Him, who are obedient to Him – and are earnestly seeking Him – are not “sinners” … we have been transformed into His righteousness through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ! We are the Bride of Christ! And this is everything!
