The Truly Great Commission

The gospel is powerful. Believing is powerful.

Everywhere we go, people need the gospel. At the grocery store. In Walmart. At the gas station. In our neighborhoods. People need healing. People need deliverance. People need hope.

The call for all of us who believe is to proclaim the gospel to everyone around us. You don’t need to be a missionary, a pastor, or an evangelist. You are a believer – and Jesus said “And these signs will accompany those who believe”.

So do we believe?

Lord help us to believe, and to share the Gospel. May it all flow out of love – seeing those around us as you see them. Becoming love, so that we can do good works – and believing all the while that as we proclaim the gospel as you’ve called us to do, your miraculous hand will touch the lives we encounter.

‘And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” ‘

– Mark 16:15-18 ESV
